Plano Balloon Fest

We did manage to make it out really late one night... and also managed to run into the Glasscock's! We didn't get out there 'til after 7:00 because Jason had been out of town, golfing. He was quite tired and worn out (also a little sick) so we left shortly after the balloon glow. I think Colby and I enjoyed the balloon glow the most while Tyler, Caden and Grace ran around and chased each other! My camera battery was dying so I had to take a picture really fast... it's not the best but I got one!!!

Just some cute pics of the boys

Maddie turned 9

I can't believe my little niece is growing up so fast! Can you believe she is 9 years old? Wow! My sister had a little swim party for her at their new condo complex. There was about 10 girls there and then cute little Tyler (he is going to be loving that scene in about 7 years)! I am so thankful I have Maddie in my life. It was so much fun to see a bunch of 9 year old girls acting like 'girlie-girls' ... they were splashing around, singing High School Musical, and talking about Justice (it's a cool clothing store for girls only)! I had tons of fun shopping for her and can't wait to spoil her again at Christmas!

New Soccer Team

Tyler is old enough now to play soccer for Allen Sports Association. He started a few weeks back with his new team - the Tornados ... When the coach was asking all the kids what number they wanted to be, Tyler shouted out '15' - so 15 it is! Here is my big man in his new, cool uniform. Tyler is still a little timid around the ball (sometimes called 'weed-pickers') but the more he plays the more he goes after the ball.

Coach Billy and Assistant Coach Duda also have matching uniforms! Look how cute they all are! Coach Duda says being an assistant coach is the way to go... you still get to help out and teach the kids but you don't have to deal with all the administrative stuff!!

School is in

Tyler's first day of school was Tuesday September 4. His new teachers are Ms. Brittany and Ms. Laura. Tyler was so excited that school finally started up... Although he did tell me that he wished he was 5 becasue he wanted to go to kindergarten ... 'becasue kindergarten is better'. Tyler had a great first day and seems to really like his new teacher!! I know he is going to do great.

Labor Day Weekend

We did not do much over the Holiday weekend... we were looking for things to do and ended up visiting a few museums. On Sunday, Tyler, Colby and I went and checked out the snake exhibit at the Heard Natural Science Museum. Tyler thought it was super cool getting to see all the snakes. We got to hear some of the snakes 'hiss' at us and saw several of the snakes 'bow up' (is that how you say it??) at us!!

To the right is a picture of Tyler and Colby standing inside of a snake. Very cool display!

On Monday, we decided to check out the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Neat stuff there and the Apollo exhibit was super cool to see!!

The museum was not very crowded so one of the workers let Tyler go inside one of the helicopters on display. Tyler had several questions for the worker like 'what does this button do?', 'what about this red button over here?' and on and on... the funny thing is that the worker answered Tyler like he actually knew something about helicopters. 'This button lets the hydraulic up on the back right rotor and minimizes air pressure so the fork can spin the right front blade in a counter-clockwise direction' ... I have no idea what I just said but those were the kind of answers Tyler was getting! It was quite amusing to see the look on Tyler's face after the worker finished talking.

Colby Fun Facts

We have not had anymore big things happen, such as falling out of cribs/opening doors, but he has added a few more words to his vocabulary. He pretty much calls all food 'nana' except the other day he added another food word - 'cracker' ... It sounds more like 'caca' but you definitely know he's talking about a cracker.

-For milk he uses the last syllable and calls it 'kul'

-When he wants something (toy, food, etc...) really bad he says 'nanananana' over and over - soo cute!!!

-We have been pointing out body parts to him lately and when you ask 'where is your nose?' he points to his nose! He will also point to his ears and eyes when asked (well, some of the time).

-He has started using a little bit of sign language (works like more, please)

-He shakes his head really big (like he is saying NO) when he is done eating or when he does not want something.

- My favorite of all... even if Colby is in another room, as soon as he hears the stair gate open he comes running in to the living room as fast as his little legs will take him to climb up the stairs. He gets this huge grin on his face and starts laughing and giggling. So cute to watch!

Last Month of Summer

This past month has been somewhat slow so we tried to find ways to amuse ourselves. We tried out some family bowling... well, I sat with Colby and we watched Tyler and Duda bowl. Tyler stayed pretty even with his Duda's score, too (for a while anyway).

We, of course, did plenty of swimming and had more friends over.

And even more friends over...

This is actually Tyler and Maddie doing 'handstands' underwater! Fun times!!

Also, one of Tyler's other favorite activites this summer, besides swimming, has been doing preschool workbooks. He loves doing the activites in the workbooks and especially enjoys having to find the hidden objects! Those were my favorite too. We 'work' in a workbook pretty much for a few minutes everyday (30 minutes or so) because he enjoys doing them so much.

Tyler also has a new favorite toy that he got this month for being so brave at the dentist. Fisher Price has a new toy line called 'Planet Heroes' and Tyler got to pick one out at Toys R Us. He was so excited about them that he drew a picture of all the planets. (One of the planets on his drawing was a mess up so that is why there are 10). :) Because of the toy line Tyler can now name all 9 planets! Look at my little Science Man!!

1st Birthday Party

Don't you just love 1st birthdays?? It's fun to see all the babies running, scooting around and playing together. We had a great time at Mr. Scott's 1st birthday party. His mommy had the great idea of doing a kite party and giving all the kids little parachute men. Tyler has not put his para-trooper down since the party! He loves it. Thanks Fishpaw Family!! We love you guys and know what a blessed and special day this was for ya'll! Most my pictures from the party are of kids heads, like Colby's here in this picture... but I did manage to get one with at least Scott looking at the camera!! :) Happy Birthday, Big Guy!

Off to the Races

About 18 months ago (2 Christmas ago) we got Jason's dad a Nascar driving experience for Christmas at Texas Motor Speedway. I couldn't let Jason's dad go alone so I bought the same driving adventure for Jason so they could do it together. 18 months later and they are finally able to use them! Jason and his dad went to Texas Motor Speedway early, early Sunday morning to take the driving class and then drive an actual Nascar car. I thought it would be cool to take the boys to watch so Tyler, Colby and I drove down to TMS a little later and got there just in time to see Duda and Da drive their cars. Here is a pic of Jason in his car ... (You can't see him but he is inside there)!!!

The company throwing the class, Team Texas, also had a race car limo that the visitors could ride inn... $20 and you got to go in the race car limo around the track for 3 laps. Tyler, Granny, and I decided to do it! Tyler thought it was sooo cool!!!!

Colby Update

Well, we had a big weekend at the Tucker household. Not only did we discover that Colby can open doors, but he can climb out of his crib, too! Yikes! This past Saturday, I closed the door to the bathroom and in comes Colby. I thought to myself, 'no way did he just do that' so I put him out of the bathroom and in he comes again. I thought that maybe it was just an easy door to open so I tried it out on our bedroom door, and yes, he can open that one too. On the same Saturday afternoon, when Colby was supposed to be napping, I hear a big thud come from upstairs and then immediately hear a toy go off in his room... a toy that I knew was not in his crib. Off I run upstairs for fear that he is going to use his other new found talent of opening doors and then come tumbling down the stairs... As I was running up the stairs I had horrible images of a bloody nose, knocked out teeth, broken bones, bumps and bruises going through my min... and then when I open the door I heard his little giggle and I knew that everything was allright. He was running around his room laughing and playing like he was saying "I'm free, I'm free." Jason lowered Colby's crib to his last and final level so hopefully that will keep him in a little longer!

We did not go through these problems with Tyler at such an early age... probably becasue he was not tall enough to open doors or climb out of his crib! Colby is too smart (and tall) for his own good!!

Fun Friday (7/27)

This Fun Friday was very low key, but still fun nonetheless! We went swimming with the boys and then since the weather was fairly nice, we got the Jeep out for the boys to play in. Colby has been too little to ride in the Jeep so this was his first time to ride with brother Tyler! After the Jeep, Duda and Tyler went across the street to the open part of the park and practiced their golf swing. Jason picks out old/yucky golf balls and then hits them into the trees at the back of the park. Meanwhile, Colby and I were watching the birds fly by outside, looking for planes in the sky, and watched the cars go by. I think he could sit for hours outside just watching 'things' ... that was it for our Fun Friday!!

Swim Friends

This past week was a fun week. One of my very dear childhood friends came over with her kids to hang out and swim. I have know Terri since the 6th grade and love getting to catch up with her- she now lives in Allen and has, like the rest of us, 2 boys; Jack (6 years old) and Logan (4 years old). Tyler had a great time hanging out with Jack and Logan and didn't want them to leave. Here is a picture of the 3 handsome little men in line to show us some of their super, cool jumps.
The very next day Gena, Madelaine and Blake came by to swim. What a treat for Tyler - and me!! Tyler gets quite bored having to swim with Colby and I all the time so he was super excited when I mentioned Little Maddie and Blake were coming over. Tyler gets my niece, Maddie, confused with Madelaine Ross so to distinguish between the two, he calls Madelaine Ross 'Little Maddie' ... The kids had a fun time diving for toys and riding the big rocket boats!

Another Fun Friday!

This past Friday we had some friends from the neighborhood over to swim. I didn't realize how crazy it would be with 10 kids in the pool. We had a great time but most of the kids were little kids so they were all around the steps. I had my camera out but didn't take one picture because I had my eyes glued on Colby. He is beginning to really love the water and just wants to swim. If Jason or I am holding him he will smack his face down in the water becasue he wants to go under water. The other day he just walked right in. I was right there to grab him but he has no fear so he pretty much needs 100% of my attention in the water. We can't even go out in the backyard to sit and read/relax without him crying and practically begging to get in the water.

I did, however, manage to get some cute pics of Colby when Duda got home later that evening. Here is Colby riding on Duda's tummy... he loved it and wanted to do it over and over!

One more shot of the "Mini Me"

I have a little video of Colby swimming so if you would like to see...

Little Red Chair

Colby loves to sit on the couch, on our bed, on Tyler's little red chair, anything that has a seat and is comfy. He climbs on the little chairs that they have at Lifetime fitness play center, he loves them! There was usually a shovinig match on which one would get to sit in Tyler's red chair so we finally got Colby his own little red chair (like Tyler's) from Pottery Barn Kids... and he loves it! He immediately took to it and loves to sit in it... and he knows it's his too!

So, now that we have resolved the shoving matches... we have another issue. Since Tyler's chair is over 3 years old and has been jumped on, jumped over, thrown around, thrown on, etc... it is now very "worn" and is shorter than Colbys. Tyler did not like that at all. The issues never end!! We told Tyler that his chair was broken in and was way more Comfy than Colbys and we haven't heard another word about it. Here are both boys in their little red chairs!!

Fun at the Park

These past few weeks have been pretty relaxed for us... not much going on. I purposely didn't sign Tyler up for much late in the summer, I wanted the summer to be fun and relaxing. He has been getting a little bored lately so we might try out an ASI summer camp. The camps last for 5 hours so if he likes it maybe I will take him once or twice a week.

We had a birthday party the other day that was super fun. We went to Jackson's 3rd birthday at Celebration Park in Allen. Here are some pics of the boys at the super cool spray park.

Colby was not fond of the spray
park... Can you tell?! :)

Instead of playing in the nice cool water, Colby wanted to walk up the little bridge (below), then down the little bridge, up the little bridge... in the 95 degree blazing heat. His little cheeks were as red as apples (just like his mommy)!

Fun on the Fourth

What a fun time we had swimming and hanging out with friends! The sun was actually out and we did not have one single rain drop that day! The kids had a great time swimming and lining up to jump in... check out a few pics

Uh... How did that happen?? Aren't the chicks supposed to get the lounge chairs! My babe is now the color of Fishpaws shorts!

My babe, as he said, 'knitting a meat sweater' ...

Some of the kiddos watching a video

Fireworks

This past Saturday was the Allen USA Celebration. Jason made it home from the horse races in time and I was feeling better so we decided to load the kids up to go see the fireworks. Celebration park, where they shoot the fireworks, is really close to our house so we put the boys in our bike cart and rode our bikes ... fun-times! Tyler surprised us both and actually watched the fireworks and was clapping and hollering for more (past years he has been so, so scared). Colby watched with amazement and didn't seem to mind the big bangs!

I had the boys in their cute little matching Fourth shirts and also had them all lit up with glow sticks/necklaces/ braclets!! Look at me glow...

Inch worm, inch worm...

Maddie and Tyler found a real live inch worm the other day and of course Tyler had to play with it. He, again, brought it inside and we put it in a bug habitat and of course the next morning it was gone. So, that is it for me... No more creatures inside the house!! They keep escaping!
Just a pic of my Cheese-man... Morning breakfast time is definitely when he is at his happiest! He said 'nana' this morning for the first time!!
